OMFGGG REBLOGGING AGAIN. ITS FRIDAYYYYYYYY
I have two biological siblings. I technically have two brothers.
I have one biological father. I technically have one dad.
I have one biological mother. I technically have one mom.
I consider myself to be a huge family person. I love the family I have and wouldn’t trade them for the world. I love my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. and love them dearly. But I consider all of my friends to be a part of my family. I consider their parents, my parents. The likes.
They have all had such an impact on me. Every single one of them has changed me in some way. Whether they’ve taken care of me when I can’t take care of myself, or letting me take care of them. I know my girls (and boys) always have my back. I know that I’m truly never alone. Some of my friends have taught me about myself by disappointing me or letting me down. Other have taught me about myself by giving me the opportunity to pick them up when they’re down.
To be honest, I can’t list what each of my friends has contributed to my life. There are so many of them and they have all done so many things. But last night my best friend changed my future.
Although I consider all of my friends to be apart of my family, only one of them is my Sissy. In many of my classes I have prayed for my sister during prayer and I always smile seeing the reactions of my classmates or teachers who know I don’t have a sister. Yes, biologically I don’t have a sister. But she’s more than just my best friend. She’s the person I turn to in the middle of a crisis. She’s the only person I want to talk to when I’m in a bad mood. Sometimes I think she’s the only person I truly trust. Last night I surprised her at her dance show. On the way there I was telling her mom I was probably going to dance at school and I might cheer if I could handle the time commitment.
But after watching her dance I realized how much I wanted to be dancing in those numbers. I can’t quit dance. I can’t not tell stories through my body. I love cheerleading but it’s a shallow sport. Every movement doesn’t have an emotional purpose. There’s no deeper meaning behind the routine. Cheerleading is about impressing the judges and the audience. Dancing is about you. You dance because you love it. You have to put your heart and soul into it in order to get anywhere with it. I love performing numbers that move the audience.
I’m going to UMass Amherst next year and I’m going to dance. Thank you Manda for showing me that I’ve been doing the right thing for the past 15 years.

I’m so excited for prom this year. I don’t care if I end up alone with Jack away from everyone else the whole time going ham on the dance floor. Prom is what you make it so to those of you who don’t want to go. Just go and have fun. Screw everyone who is making it seem suckish for you.
We watched this at the Lenten service at school last week and I started bawling. Anyone who saw me could see I was a wreck. Watch this video. It will honestly change how you see yourself.
